DESCRIPTION: France, ornate figural mantel clock, shaped and molded griotte marble case resting on gilt scroll feet with foliate ornament, surmounted by a winged female figure with cornucopia overflowing with coins, and bag presumably also containing currency, a putto with horn at her left side, the composition representing the fruits of industry, gilt bezel with beveled glass, Arabic numeral white enamel dial with gilt ornamental center, blued steel hands, 8 days, time and strike, pendule a Paris movement, c 1900
CONDITION: Dark red marble with decent repair and now with a coat of lacquer, top marble with losses at left and right front corners, figure with restored patination, feet with gold paint, glass with minor scratches, dial with hairlines, movement ticks and strikes, bell replaced, rear mounting/retainer ring a bit small for the opening, will need attention. Although there are some cosmetic issues, the clock is in overall good condition and very impressive. Ht 31"
